Women’s Wisdom Circles

Ages & Stages of a Woman’s Life

So what is the Wild Woman? From the viewpoint of archetypal psychology as well as from the storytelling tradition, she is the female soul. Yet she is more; she is the source of the feminine. She is all that is of instinct, of the worlds both seen and hidden—she is the basis. We each receive from her a glowing cell which contains all the instincts and knowings needed for our lives.

Caryn L. Aman, MA founded her first Women’s Wisdom Circle, a Jungian oriented, soul-centered & educational, multi-generational sacred Women’s Circle exploring the “Ages & Stages of a Woman’s Life” in 1998. The first gathering of 35 women evolved into four Women’s Circles in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Later, additional groups were added in Kent and Federal Way, Washington.

Currently, Caryn facilitates one Women’s Wisdom Circle in Portland drawing women from the Portland/Metro area on the first Saturday morning of the month. This Jungian oriented Women’s Circle is open to all women interested in deepening their own personal and spiritual growth within a safe container. This sacred Circles include sisters, mothers, daughters, aunts, grandmothers, and friends currently ranging from 38 to 78 years young. The morning Circle, which has been together since 1998, has just finished the book, Addiction to Perfection, by Marion Woodman and has started reading, The Pregnant Virgin, also by Marion.

Periodically, we create and participate in a ritual Crone (meaning Crown of Age) Ceremony initiating woman (ages 60 and older) from our community into Wise Woman status. One of the tasks of Crone is to mentor and give back to our community as well as to the world at large.
